How Sports Betting Works

A sportsbook sets prices (odds) for each possible outcome. If you back an outcome and it happens, you win your stake multiplied by the odds. The Main Bet Types

1X2 (match result)

Home win (1), draw (X) or away win (2). Simple and popular for football.

Asian handicap

Over/under (totals)

Bet on whether total goals are above or below a line such as 2.5.

Correct score

Predict the exact final score. High odds, low chance.

Mix parlay (accumulator)

Combine several picks into one bet. Odds multiply, but every pick must win. Popular in Malaysia, but the chance of success drops quickly with each added leg.

Outrights

Bet on a tournament or league winner before or during the season.

Live Betting and Live Streaming

Live (in-play) betting lets you bet while the match is running. Odds update after goals, cards and momentum changes. Live streaming and live match trackers have made in-play betting more popular, because you can see what is happening before you bet.
